About This Race

Run Through the Fjords of Nuuk

Experience Greenland one step at a time.

KangNu Running Race is a unique Arctic trail running event set in the Nuuk Fjord system,

where runners and hikers move through mountains, valleys, rivers, and Arctic terrain on the

way back to Nuuk.

Participants are transported by boat into the fjord to the starting area in Kobberfjorden before

the adventure begins through open landscapes, mountain trails, and fjord routes far away

from roads and everyday life.

Fresh Arctic air, river crossings, mountain terrain, and long trails through the fjords create a

unique running experience in Greenlandic nature.

Whether you are an experienced ultra runner searching for a demanding mountain

challenge, a trail runner looking for a new adventure, or simply someone who wants to hike

through Arctic nature, KangNu offers a distance for everyone.

What’s Included

We take care of transportation, safety, and route support so participants can focus on the

experience and the challenge ahead.

All KangNu participants are transported by boat from Nuuk to the starting area in

Kobberfjorden before the race begins.

The routes are clearly marked, and safety checkpoints are positioned throughout the course.

At checkpoints, participants will find water, juice, fruit, and chocolate during the race.

Satellite communication is used for additional safety in areas with limited mobile coverage.

At the finish line in Nuuk, participants, friends, and spectators gather to celebrate the race

together.

Safety & Support

Participant safety is our highest priority.

The routes are clearly marked, and safety checkpoints are positioned at important sections

throughout the course.

Because of the remote terrain and limited mobile coverage, satellite communication is used

for additional safety and emergency coordination.

Participants should be prepared for changing Arctic weather, uneven terrain, river crossings,

and long distances in remote nature.

Nature sets the rules in Greenland — and that is part of what makes KangNu such a unique

running experience.

Finish Line in Nuuk

The finish line is located in Nuuk, where spectators, friends, family, and fellow participants

gather to celebrate the race together.
