Northern Lights Boat Experience

Step out onto the water and experience the Northern Lights from the Nuuk Fjord system.

During the winter season, we take you by boat into the fjord at night for a journey of around 2

hours, away from any settlement lights. Out here, the fjord opens up completely, and the sky

becomes the main focus.

When the aurora appears, it moves across the sky and reflects on the water — visible from

the boat in silence and open space.

The experience

We depart from Nuuk in the evening with an experienced local captain who knows the fjord

system and winter conditions.

The boat slowly moves through dark fjords, surrounded by mountains and still water. There

are no fixed stops — we position the boat where conditions are best and where the sky is

most open.

This is a calm, slow experience designed around patience, weather, and visibility.

What to expect

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed, but the Nuuk

Fjord offers strong conditions due to dark skies and very low light pollution.

You can expect:
